Through Our Eyes

s’aa’lh shtutul’na’mut | Through our eyes

We are sharing our stories with everyone who would like to learn to speak Hul’q’umi’num’. Our stories were written by the Hul’q’umi’num’ language students at Ladysmith Secondary School, in Ladysmith, British Columbia. They were composed during a story-writing workshop held during May and June 2015 by the Hul’q’umi’num’ Language and Culture Collective. We worked with Elders Delores Louie and Ruby Peter to cast our stories into Hul’q’umi’num’. Thank you to our si’em’ teacher Verna Jones for giving us an opportunity to lay down our stories in Hul’q’umi’num’. We say hay tseep q’u to all who helped.
